Blogger beta, Technorati, elgg, bloglines and Nextspace

By klamma

I spent last night playing around with spreading blog news. There are some major issues with my setting in the moment. In my opinion I already spent too much time on solving the actual problems. It was thought to be a new to promote science and the practice of science. But now, it is getting a time consuming hobby like model railways or amateur radio.

  • Blogger Beta does not work together with Technorati in the moment. I have found some blog entries and one google group with have some information on the topic but no real solutions. After 32 days after the incidence in the time of the Internet! It is unbelievable in my eyes? How many people are using blogger beta?
  • I have aggregated del.icio.us links in elgg.net. But this is not feasible. For every del.icio.us link I create a new blog entry.
  • I have created a new blog called grummet in Bloglines. But Bloglines does not work together with Blogger beta nor with elgg.net. Web 2.0 is not that easy.
  • Most complicated is cooperation with Nextspace. There is no individual blog anymore. Users have inboxes. I have to ask the ICamp people what I can do. Claiming the inbox in technorati is not possible.
  • I was added to my cousin’s blog. No effect on technorati. See above.

I’ve linked your blog from within a post in my wordpress blog on semantic-metadata.net … perhaps this results in a somewhat higher technorati ranking. Furthermore I recommend you digg your blog ;)
